Day 235

Eeeeek--it's 10 and I have just now stopped doing stuff. School all day then out to dinner for dad's birthday. After that went grocery shopping for International Day tomorrow. I made "Afghan biscuits" (they taste like chocolate cookies with cornflakes). They are AMAZING!! I also taste tested with LJ the "fairy bread" that I am going to feed my kids tomorrow. Get this... fairy bread is simply bread with margarine and sprinkles. It sounds not the best, but it really isn't all that bad. Too bad kids have allergies at school... nutella or peanut butter would be SO much better! Fairy bread is used at kids birthday parties in Australia---pretty cool! I am going to bed. Tomorrow is gonna be a long one, but in a good way :)

Day 234

Things are looking up. 2 more days left in the week. I can do it! I can do it! It's 7:22 and I am about to go to bed. I can't even begin to express how excited that makes me. Goodnight!

Picture: This represents how thoughtful one of my friends is. I am always asking her if I can borrow her witeout roll because it is so cool looking. Not to mention, it's pink! She handed it to me today and told me to keep it because she has two others. REALLY?? I can't do that. I declined the offer because it made me feel too guilty. I knew how much she loved it. Plus it gives me a reason to bother her every day :). Also, she did me another favor before I could ever ask her the favor. She is one of the hardest working people that I know. I am pretty sure she'd do anything for anyone... well, anyone she liked haha. Thanks to you. You don't get enough thanks and I just want to dedicate my post to you for being all around awesome in so many ways!

Day 233

It's better this way my friends, it's better this way :)

Hope you are doing fabulous!

Day 232

Happy things (PLURAL):
-sharing top 3 class for Stepping Stones with my class (they literally screamed with the news!)
-watching my kids jump like little Australian kangaroos in the International parade
-completing a project I've been working for a few days
-making a cute Australian animals activity with my class
-Laura making dinner AGAIN for us! :)
-getting attacked with love by Ottie as I walked through the door

Sad thing (SINGLULAR):
-missing Josh's class because of the weather-- No me gusta hail!! :( SO LAME!!

Oh well, at least I get to spend more time with my roommates and catch up on some celebrity news (E!). Dancing with the Stars is also on my list of things to do tonight!

Day 231

Today was super productive. I graded papers, entered grades, then debated whether or not I should enter them online. Decided I was too tired after all that hard work so I said no way. Waited from mama to get home from Auburn so we could eat lunch. She brought home sandwiches for us. I only visited with her for like 20 minutes then I had to bolt out. I had to take my roommate to get her car, pick up paper towel rolls from two of my friends places (awesome friends!! it's for a class art project), and head to my new step class....

I was told this step teacher was pretty much a crazy fun time, but I don't think I truly believed all that he could be. WOW! First of all, let me tell you that I was warned by his nicknames last week, but I forgot about it today. My friend that usually goes says that he calls her "hair thingy" because she is always adjusting her hair during the workout. Of course, I wear my most obnoxious shirt today. It's my Salty Dog Cafe colorful tie dye shirt. I mean this thing is LOUD. Well, he was loving my shirt so much that he called me "Woodstock" the whole class. Like I mean the WHOLE class. "Woodstock, look at those moves." "Woodstock, this is our last song." So at the end of class, I told him "thanks" and that I had heard great things about his class. He asked me my name, but then proceeded to tell me that I look more like a "Woodstock" so there is no way I am getting out of this one. I like his quirky/smart remarks. I know I'll be returning, but I also know no one will fulfill my love for Josh! :)

Day 230

Woke up, ate breakfast, worked on some school stuff, got some lunch, then went to get my haircut....

I am used to my salon having people with crazy hair, but not this. The person who cut my hair had brigggghhhttt purple locks. I truly thought I was going to end up with it too. LISTEN TO THIS! So she's cutting, cutting, cutting... which creates a pile of my hair in my lap. She notices by my expression that I am a speck grossed out that it is on me so she BLOWS it with the blow dryer off my lap. You're thinking, "oh that's nice!"? Wrong!!! My purse I brought today doesn't have a zipper. Those millions of pieces of hair went in my purse! So guess what I get to do tonight? Yup! I get to clean out my purse! She didn't even notice and I didn't have the heart to react. I just simply thought to myself, "Awesome for me!" My haircut is what I wanted though... 3 inches shorter and thinned out. Maybe people won't confuse me for getting extensions anymore :)

Tonight, I am pretty sure it's a pizza and Georgia game night with dad. I plan on running in my hood tonight too for old times sake. I came home to get some work done, but I am 75% in the process of getting persuaded to do something with friends in ATL. We shall see! Hope everyone had a fabulous day!

PS-jealous of my fam that's at the AU game tonight. Warrrrr Eagle!

Day 229

Check out our book cover for International Day this year. Pretty talented kids I tell ya! I'm out of words. Night!

Day 228

Big day!!

1) My friend Mat came to speak about Australia. The kids were SOOOO funny. They were in such awe of him. It was adorable! They asked him very smart questions. Here are some to name just a few:

"Is it true that people eat kangaroo meat?" "Is it true that a platypus only lives in Australia?" "Have you ever held a koala?" "How big are the joeys (baby kangaroos) when they are born?"

My favorite question happens to be this one: "How cold is it when it snows in Australia?" My dear friend whose room we were in chimes in and says something along the lines of, "Oh, it doesn't snow in Australia." I immediately knew it did because we had just read a book about it so I happened to look up at Mat to see what he'd say. He says, "Um, actually, it does snow in Australia." It was absolutely comical! My friend thought it was just as funny. BUT hey, it is true! We do learn something new each day! Love to you!!!! Thanks for a great laugh :)

2) After my friends Mat and Bianca (the driver because Mat is carless) left, my mommy and grandmommy came to my school. They got to meet most of my kids and they even got to see them show off what they know in math... I was totally impressed! :) I took pictures of them in my room, but unfortunately kids were present in them and I can't post them. Let me tell you though, they are precious :). I love both of them soooooooooooooooooooooo much!! More than words can say!

I worked out tonight and even walked to the mall. I checked out some of my fav stores fall collections. Good thing I'm babysitting Friday. That's all I have to say :)

Day 227

I have a question. When there is a ridiculous amount of traffic on the highway.... is it appropriate to pull over on the emergency lane to pass others then realize OH WAIT there actually is an accident ahead because police/ambulance sirens are behind me and now I'm blocking the one way that they can get to the scene? UGGHHHHHHHH. Some people are just clueless! I almost had a heart attack just watching some of the most inconsiderate people of Atlanta act the way they did today. Absolutely ridiculous.

In other news, I am super pumped for tomorrow. My mommy and grandmommy are coming to visit my class for the first time this year. Also, my friend Matt is coming to speak to my class about the country we are studying (Australia). EEEEEKKK! The kids are so excited about tomorrow. "Ms. Wexler, I can't wait for tomorrow. It'll be the best day of my life!" I love kids. Plain and simple. Good thing that's what my job is all about I suppose :)

Tuesday, September 21, 2010

Day 226

Check out my "present" from sweet L today. A "T" to represent her team. Hmmmm. My "G" looks so pretty compared to it. The feud is about to start again because the UGA/UT game is coming soon. My dawgs must win this time! However, neither team is looking like they have potential to win. haha.

Three things that happened to me today... must share:

1) I almost did a split in the cafeteria. Not because I wanted to show off some cool moves, but because I slipped on some fruit juice. Luckily my helpless flailing arms controlled my body and I survived without even hitting the floor. Only me.

2) I'm trying to be a fun teacher and do fun activities for our country we're studying... Australia. I find a cute template for a "kangaroo". Turns out the template resembles a bunny. LAME!! Only me.

3) This is a speck weird, but I just sneezed so hard I think I got whiplash. Lindsey was scared and is now laughing at me. Again... only me.

Monday, September 20, 2010

Day 225

DWTS: It's back!! I got an email a few days ago that I can go back if I choose. Hmmmm?? Excused or unexcused absence? I kind of like this cast, but it's definitely not my favorite. I am rooting for Florence most of all. Can I look like her when I am 76? Love me some Brady Bunch! Pretty sure I've seen every episode.

Brought over my wedding gift to Courtney and Rory. I can't attend their wedding this weekend so a gift is the least I can do.

Laura is such a chef. She fixed Linds and I dinner AGAIN. I fail as a roomie apparently. I need to step up my game on the dinner scale.

I killed it at step. Man, will I ever get sick of this class? That's a negative!

This is for Meg: Hola Meg! Me llamo Michelle. Mi espaƱol es muy mal. Lo siento, mi amor. Me encanta bailar y comer ensalada pollo. Buenos noches! Hasta manana!

Day 224

It's Sunday so I shall reflect on my weekend...

1) I love my 2nd grade team in so many ways... they are compassionate, funny, and just an all around good time!!
2) "Dynamite" by Taio Cruz is such an energy booster of a song.
3) Deep dish pizza is amazing... especially when there is karaoke to go along with it. While we are on the topic of food, I don't think I will ever get sick of the Fuji Apple Chicken salad at Panera. Holy apple chips!
4) Charlie horses are the worst pain ever. Pretty sure my calf muscle was about to pop out of my leg.
5) I don't know what I want, but I know what I DONT want.
6) Grading papers should be done on a regular basis. It's not summer anymore.
7) Working out is probably one of my top 3 favorite things in the world.. esp. step.
8) Cruising on a lake in a speed boat is so refreshing and freeeee feeling.
9) Tubing/skiing=muscular cramps the next day. I can't do anything that requires my upper arm/shoulder to move... reaching for high things, scratching my back, working out, changing clothes, etc. Hmmm... good thing I have a lot of medicine for the pain.
10) Pumpkin Spiced Lattes are back at Starbizzle. EEEEEEEKKKK!!!!

Tomorrow is Monday. I may have a lot of meetings/things to prepare and do... but I am going to try and be positive through all of it.

Grandmommy and mommy are coming to school Thursday. SOOOOOOO excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Saturday, September 18, 2010

Day 223

Tubed on the lake today with the girls. SO much fun!! I am a speck burnt. Right now I'm watching the UT game with LJ. Tonight I'm going to get deep dish pizza with a friend then heading to meet up with some people. Should be a good night!!

again... not my picture.. I am getting to be a lazy blogger recently. I apologize. I'll step it up soon!

Day 222

Sorry for not posting yesterday. Busy bee. School then lake with my team!

(not a picture I took... I was lazy)

Thursday, September 16, 2010

Day 221

A speck on the overwhelmed side. I am drowning in a sea of papers. Hopefully I will be be able to breathe come Sunday when I have time to get organized. Organization is what makes me feel happy... can't wait to get to that point! :)

Wednesday, September 15, 2010

Day 220

Today was one of those days you walk out of the building and say to yourself... THIS IS WHAT IT IS ALL ABOUT!!! "Ah ha" moments. Lightbulbs going off. You name it. It happened today! My student that moved from Mexico and speaks ZERO English not only said "Ms. Wexler" today, but also could count to 30!!! I didn't even know he could count to 10. Apparently while I was gone yesterday, it was the goal of a few girls in my class to help him learn the numbers before I came back today. I got chills and almost shed a few tears of joy! We did "surgery contractions". Let's just say they LOVED it and couldn't wait to be doctors again some other day! A child that usually sits back told me at the end of school... "Ms. Wexler, today was really fun!" My kids can count by hundreds, tens, then ones! LOVED everything about today!

Babysat when I got home for the sweetest little ones. Is it weird that I enjoy giving a baby a bottle? She was so cute when she held it by herself. One of the most precious things ever! After I put the baby to sleep, the three year old and I played with the iPad. However, he was more knowledgeable about it than I was. Kids are about to rule the world!!!

Day 219

Sorry. I didn't post yesterday because I didn't have one second to. My apologies! SIOP meeting. Made dinner with Bianca. Hung out with some of our friends Nick and Steven. I forgot that it was okay to be social on week nights. :)

Monday, September 13, 2010

Day 218

Oh, HEY midnight! What am I still up????????? I never have trouble sleeping. Anywho, on with the blog...

School. Step. Dinner. Ate a million chocolate chips... not cookies... just the morsels (what was I thinking?). Contemplated making a decision. Failed and chickened out. Going to bed at midnight was not really what I had in mind. Lots on my mind. And I mean lots. Nerves/excitement for upcoming things. Eeeek!

Check out Ottie loving on me. I was on the couch and he came over to put his head on my shoulder under my chin. The best part about it? He wrapped his little paws around my arm. I think I'm falling in love. With a dog :)

BEST quote of the day which I can totally relate to (I guess haha):

Scene: walking out of LA Fitness after Josh's step class. I'm walking behind one of my fellow classmates. It was her first time.

Girl (on the phone to a friend): "I feel like I just performed on Broadway. I have the biggest rush and I think I just lost 20 pounds instantly."

HAHA, Amen sistah! Couldn't have said it better myself :)

Sunday, September 12, 2010

Day 217

Babysat. Tin Drum with Linds. MTV Video Music Awards.... so stoked for Chelsea Handler to host! Yay.

Saturday, September 11, 2010

Day 216

It's okay Dawgs. There's always next time.

Friday, September 10, 2010

Day 215

School. Babysat. Played with Lindsey and Ali's dogs. Hittin' the town! Georgia game tomorrow! :)

Thursday, September 9, 2010

Day 214

Got home from school. Worked out at the gym with a step class--I'll just say it was pretty silly. Hmmm? Now I'm playing tug-of-war with Ottie and working on work stuff. I'm thinking it's a movie kind of night.

Wednesday, September 8, 2010

Day 213

Hello all! Yes, I'm okay :) I want to reach out to those who were concerned about my update last night. First of all, I can't believe how many of you asked me how everything was last night and today. I appreciate all of the kind words. Most of the time, I am pretty happy and excited about all of the things I'm doing. Sometimes and I mean sometimes, I get to the point where even though I'm excited... I start to feel overwhelmed. I think yesterday was one of those days. I am MUCH better now. I got done what needed to be done thanks to many people who helped me. Again, so thankful for my friends and family I have! I know for a fact I wouldn't be who I am today without all of you. Man, soooo blessed!

Tonight I went over to my aunt and uncle's house for dinner. My dad's side is Jewish and so we go over to celebrate the Jewish New Year every year called Rosh Hashanah. I enjoy seeing all of my cousins at these events! Not to mention I got to see my old ROOMIES--aka mom (check out her shoe fashion she has now that I'm gone--too bad we can't share shoes! sooo impressed!), dad, and David. :) Miss those peeps!

Goodnight <3

Day 212

It's one of those days I'm just going to keep my thoughts inside. Hope you had a good day!

Monday, September 6, 2010

Day 211

Happy Labor Day! I was very productive today. I went to the pool, did laundry, went on an hour and a half walk around the area, went grocery shopping, put my kids into reading groups, graded some papers, and cleaned the whole apartment. I have tons left to do so I must run. I leave you with two things that caught my eye on my walk... the Oscar Mayer vehicle and a beautiful Jesus Fish on a local church.

Sunday, September 5, 2010

Day 210

Fun weekend so far! I drove Lauren and I to Athens yesterday morning. Before we went to the tailgate, I went to a frame store and got my diploma and tassel framed. Better late than never right? I picked it up today! It screams UGA and is just sooooo cute! I love it. Yesterday we tailgated with a bunch of our friends. We saw someone wearing this shirt. HILARIOUS! We didn't go to the game, but we watched it downtown. We won by a ton. GO DAWGS!! Today was absolutely beautiful! I went on a walk around the area. I love beautiful nights when it is cool outside! SO amazing! One of my friends Stephanie is in town from LA so we are going to Fado for a little to catch up with some of our friends. Not gonna lie... EXCITED to have tomorrow off!

Saturday, September 4, 2010

Day 209

Let's be honest, blogging tonight isn't gonna happen. I've got my UGA gear on and I'm ready. GOOOO DAWGS!

Friday, September 3, 2010

Day 208

School was ... we'll say... interesting today. I kept feeling like I had to explain myself in multiple situations. Hmmmm... not cool. Thank goodness though I have amazing admins (plural!) who rock. Tonight I babysat. She made a "fence" so I couldn't get out to go home. She also attached onto my leg and refused my departure by saying "You are NOT leaving missy". Oh, how I feel loved. :)

ATHENS IN THE EARLY AM TO SEE MY DAWGIES!!

Thursday, September 2, 2010

ABSOLUTELY WEIRD.

3 people that I play Words With Friends with had the SAME WORD last night. I am still in shock. It's not like they are trying to play a joke on me because they don't know each other. I know Chelsea through mutual friends. Kristin in my cousin's gf. Laura is a good friend from school growing up. What is "Qi" anyways?

Day 207

I beat last night. 6:30am-8:00pm. We had curriculum night tonight. I enjoyed spending time with my grade level. I would go more in depth into my day, but I am honestly tired as can be. I leave you with a picture that sums up my night. I ran into a family that I had last year. They told me at the end of the year they had a present for me, but that I had to wait on it. Tonight was the night. How amazing is this? I almost started crying. Partially because I was exhausted, but MOSTLY because I couldn't believe the thoughtfulness that went into it. SO sweet!!! Night.

Wednesday, September 1, 2010

Day 206

I was at school from 6:30am-7:00pm. Why you ask? Well, 6:30 because I somehow manage to forget to copy something, get something ready, etc. for the day. 7:00 because of a few reasons... 1) I had a birthday dinner at 7:30 and I knew if I went home I'd probably crash and go to sleep. 2) We decided today that my room is going to be used for Curriculum Night for second grade. I did a bit of cleaning and perfecting let's say. I finallllyyyyy put up my word wall letters. AND wrote the kids birthdays on my birthday poster. Just so many little things that have been on my list of things to do.

I have five games of Words with Friends on hold. I am going to use my last little brain power to attempt to play. Night world.
