Day 113

Today was fun! We went to the Braves game and then stayed for a Beach Boys concert afterward. So get this!! We are sitting in our awesome seats and I look to my right and notice a familiar man. I said, "Mom, isn't that a beach boy?" Sure enough, IT WAS!!! It was Mike Love... the lead singer. Well, my dad being the pushy man he is/gets anything he wants... somehow talked the people into letting our family get a picture with him. Unfortunately for me though, his stupid manager walked in front of JUST ME when the picture was taken. SOOOO lame. It's okay though because we chatted it up before and I have the memories :). haha. My dad also somehow managed to talk them into letting him go down on the field for the concert. He amazes me how he can do anything when he puts his mind to it.

Overall, fabulous day! I love Memorial Day. It is such a precious day to honor and remember the people who have fought for our freedom. Being at the Braves game made me feel so much pride for our soldiers and country!

Oh yeah.... BRAVES ARE #1 RIGHT NOW!!!! WOOHOO. Brings me back to elementary school when I had everything Braves! I memorized the line up. I had a Braves outfit I wore everyday (okay, probably once a week). I had tomahawk earrings. I went to all the games my parents would take me too. I loved it! I am so happy for them to finally be at the top again!

Day 112

Spent the whole day at airports and on the plane. On the plane, I watched the movie "Dear John". Um... talk about adorable and sad??? Wow. Check out my neighbor. I never got a good look at her because she rode like this the ENTIRE time. My mama and I got the bigggeessttt kick out of it. I have a lot of pictures of me with her, but unfortunately my mom chickened out and they are all blurry! :( The best was when they came by offering drinks and she never said anything! haha.

When we got to ATL, we got our bags and headed for the shuttle to take us to our car. We rode the shuttle with hardcore rednecks. We're talkin' sooouuutttthhhheeerrrrnnn. Let me just give you a bit of a preview... this was spoken to the entire shuttle by one of the women right after she got off the phone with her husband... "Can you believe he done been home for 3 days without me and he has yet to go shoppin' for the week at Wal-Mart? You don't think he coulda takin' care of the swamp now, could ya?" Um, what? Again... my mama and I were highly entertained. Thank you Atlanta.

Day 111

I'm a wee bit behind. Yesterday (Saturday) we went to the BEST place ever for brunch. It's called 26 Beach and it's located in Marina Del Rey. Holy cow. We could not stop talking about it and refused to let the bus boys take our food back. If you are curious as to how amazing it is... check out the menu.... http://www.26beach.com/.... My mom got the Reeces Peeces french toast and I got the Breakfast sandwich then we split them. Talk about heaven!! Here I am eating the french toast... my friend Steph captured the moment against my will, but it turned out to be semi decent! :)

After a ridiculously amazing brunch, we went to Hermosa Beach all day. There was not a cloud in the sky! It was GORGEOUS!!! Unfortunately, my stomach is paying for it. I am burnt to a crisp. Imagine a tomato. Yeah. That's what my front side looks like. Hopefully, it'll turn tan soon!

In Hermosa, they had an art festival. It's not really what you think of though... I pictured a bunch of canvases for sale. It was so much more than that! Lots of jewelry, clothing, etc... TONS of great food!! We were still full from brunch, but managed to eat some roasted corn on the cob with all these different spices on it. I have never had anything like it and I can honestly say it was a good experience! I was hesitant, but boy was it yummmmmyyyy!

After that, we dropped by a few of our favorite stores then came home. I passed out around 10.

Day 110

We went to Universal Studios today. The first thing we did was the "Studio Tour". We saw where a bunch of tv shows and movies were/are filmed. The coolest place we saw was definitely Desperate Housewives. If we had gone on the tour a week later, they wouldn't have been able to take us through Wisteria Lane because they are filming then. After that, we went on three rides.... a Simpsons ride, a Mummy ride, and the Jurassic Park ride.

My favorite ride was the Jurassic Park ride. Throughout this water ride, you get to see a bunch of what would have been life size dinosaurs.... some of them spray water at you.... right before you are about to go down the 85 foot drop a HUGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE dinosaur head comes out at you as if it is going to eat you. So here you are preparing yourself for the drop that is about to happen then BAM!!!! A massive dino is about to eat you. Then... BAM--you drop 85 feet!!! I about had a heart attack. But in a good way. Luckily, I was on the side that got the most soaked. I was covered in water. Normally, I wouldn't have cared, but it was pretty breezy today so I was a bit chilly. The "you survived" picture that the ride took was PRICELESS of my mom and I. We both looked terrified!!!!! Well duh, I was about fall AND get eaten.

After the rides, we went to the City Walk (tons of shopping, bars, restaurants). I stumbled across this BIG guitar at the Hard Rock. It reminded me of my band members. I miss y'all (L, Meg, and Gladys). ROCK ON!!

Alrighty peeps, I am about to go cook out with my friends then hit the town with everyone on James Beach. It is such a pretty night here!

American Idol Adventure....

Hi everyone! Sorry it has taken me a few days to actually sit down and talk about it, but it has been just busy, busy, busy! Okay, here it goes...

We woke up very early... probably around 6am. Our ticket said to be there no later than 2pm, but I know with going to shows before that means arrive around 7am. :) Of course when we got there at 7:30am, I was correct! My number in line was 131, which means 130 people were in front of me. So, it was a good thing my eagerness to get there was so strong! We waited in line for about 3 hours. Some of the people in line were die hard fans for the show... to be honest I was more excited about the celeb stars that they were keeping a secret from everyone! Finally, the people in charge came out.... they checked our ids and tickets and then gave us hard tickets with seat numbers. I about screamed when I saw that we had FLOOR tickets. After they gave them to us, we were free to leave, but we had to be inside the Nokia Theatre by 4:30pm. It was so refreshing that they treated this like a concert and everyone had their own seats... it definitely took the anxiety and pressure off because we were worried it would be a first come first serve deal. I didn't feel like fighting anyone that day :). Just kidding! We were super hungry by this point so we went to ESPN Zone for some lunch. It just happened to be right next to the red carpet set up. So basically we just stumbled upon it. After lunch, we decided that we wanted to get a prime spot for the red carpet event and boy did we ever. We were literally on the front row where all of the celebs came. We saw sooo many while we were there.... just to name a few.... Dr. Drew, Janice Dickinson, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Chilli from TLC, Jordan Sparks, David Archuleta, etc. Here is the bummer though!! We had to leave when it was getting really good because we had to go put our phones and cameras in the car. When we got back we tried to attempt to see the red carpet again, but we were too far back. I asked someone beside me who just got out there because people were flipping out.... it was the one and only ELLEN!! We missed her. I was so sad!! And all of the top 10 American Idols from this season came too while we were gone. It's cool though! We got to see them inside. So... at about 4:20pm we went inside the Nokia Theatre. It was sooooo surreal that we were in there. Famous people everywhere! Chilli from TLC sat in front of us... David Hasselhoff was a few sections over... craziness I tell ya. The show was absolutely amazing.... all of you watched it saw everything we did... so it's no surprise who was there. I do want to point out my favorite ones though... LOVED when Alanis Morsette came out... LOVED when the previous idols did a tribute to Simon (I 100% cried)... LOVED when Janet came out;however, we were all super nervous for another wardrobe problem from her... it came super close to a repeat for her! haha. The guy next to us somehow got in with his phone so he took the picture of my mom and I that I posted that night. I feel lucky to have that picture now! I could go on and on about how great it was, but I'd go on for a while.

Right now we're headed to Universal Studios to see the Desperate Housewives set and ride some rides. I'll update again later! :)

Day 109

Sorry to do this to you again, but I'm going to have to postpone my American Idol adventure. Another long and crazy busy day and I'm exhausted. I pinky promise I'll do it tomorrow!

Today was fun.... Pinks Hot dogs, The Getty Center to see the Di Vinci collection (picture is from top of the building), Coffee Bean, the Grove, Sex and the City 2, and Wood Ranch for BBQ. Great day :)

Day 108

All I can say right now is.... WOW. I am SO tired so I am going to sleep. I promise to update about my entire day tomorrow when I have free time. I am beyond exhausted. Hope all of you have David Archuleta dreams :)

ps-I've never seen so many famous people in one day combined with the red carpet and the actual show. I eventually became immune to it. Okay, lie. Huge lie. I freaked out every single time!
